"My Town," a post-war refugee drama.

First broadcast 55 years ago almost to the day, on June 15, 1947, "My Town" was among the first radio broadcasts to examine the difficulties faced by Holocaust survivors trying to rebuild their lives in America. Sponsored by a Jewish relief agency and broadcast in English on WNYC, the program aimed to move mainstream public opinion toward a more accepting view of the war refugees landing on America's shores.
